Lumecca
Lumecca is a non-invasive treatment that aims to address a range of common skin irregularities, including: age spots, port wine stains, spider veins, hyperpigmentation, freckles, uneven skin texture, sun damage and rosacea. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is the technology behind this innovation in skin treatments, that helps to revitalise the look and feel of the skin.

Lumecca
Irregular or discoloured patches of skin on the face and body can develop at any time during adulthood, which can give them the reputation of being concerns that are associated with the ageing process. Whilst this can be true to some degree, it is likely that an uneven tone is the result of the gradual damage that the sun’s rays have caused over a long period of time.
The treatment works by moving a device over the surface of the skin, delivering targeted pulses of light deep into the dermis. The laser is drawn to the darker pigmented cells and encourages them to come to the surface, before falling off effectively as a flake of skin. Thread veins may appear to change colour before being discarded.
The heat that is emitted from the laser will help to stimulate the production of collagen which can help to smooth and firm the skin, as well as helping to shrink the look of enlarged pores.
During a consultation at Ambra Aesthetic Clinic you will be advised if a series of treatments will produce the best outcome for you. The treatment is more effective on fair to medium toned skin and works best when the skin has not recently been tanned.
FAQ
AM I SUITABLE FOR LUMECCA?
Lumecca has produced successful results for those with fairer toned skin who have developed areas of discoloured skin on the face and body, including: face neck, décolletage, hands and legs. As the treatment is less effective on tanned skin (due to its attraction to areas of pigmentation) it is recommended that you have not recently been sunbathing, or have used tanning beds / other devices. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding may also not be recommended for Lumecca.
IS LUMECCA SAFE?
Lumecca is a safe treatment that has FDA approval. At Ambra Aesthetic Clinic the treatment is administered by a specially trained professional who understands which depth is safe and suitable for each particular patient.
IS LUMECCA PAINFUL?
In general, this treatment is described as being quite comfortable to endure. A topical numbing cream can be applied beforehand if you consider your personal level of tolerance to be fairly low. The temperature of your skin will be closely monitored throughout the treatment and cool packs can be used to soothe the treated area if you feel this is needed.
ARE THERE ANY RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH LUMECCA?
Immediately after the treatment you may notice that your skin feels warm and looks slightly red. In the few days that follow you may notice your skin develops a flake(s) on the skin’s surface, which will fall off. During this process it will help not to use harsh exfoliants, including facial brushes, as the skin will be a little sensitive. Using a suitable SPF will be even more essential during the first 2 weeks after treatment too.
WHAT DOWNTIME CAN I EXPECT FROM LUMECCA?
There is virtually no downtime experienced following the Lumecca treatment. The treatment does not cause any trauma to the skin and should not stop you from continuing with your day as normal. You may need to take extra care with your skin for the first few days, and any noticeable effects may only look similar to that of mild sunburn.
