Microneedling

Microneedling is a procedure that increases collagen production in order to improve a variety of common skin conditions.

Also known as collagen induction therapy, this minimally invasive treatment triggers a response to regenerate collagen-enriched skin, through the body’s own healing process. The texture and tone of the new tissue is more even, and the increased levels of collagen enable the skin to become firmer in structure.

It is not uncommon for the skin to naturally lose collagen when affected by ageing or injury. This natural process can lead to the face developing a range of conditions, including: lines and wrinkles, age spots, enlarged pores, skin laxity, acne scars and uneven skin tone. The appearance of these concerns can often result in the skin looking tired, having lost its youthful radiance.

Before your practitioner begins, a numbing cream may be administered to the face to minimise any discomfort. Once this has taken effect, a pen-like device will make tiny pin-pricks into the skin of the concerned area, replenishing the skin cells to give the complexion an even texture. A soothing serum may then be applied, to help calm the skin.
