Microneedling
Also known as collagen induction therapy, micro needling in North London triggers a response to regenerate collagen-enriched skin, through the body’s own healing process. The texture and tone of the new tissue is more even, and the increased levels of collagen enable the skin to become firmer in structure.
It is not uncommon for the skin to naturally lose collagen when affected by ageing or injury. This natural process can lead to the face developing a range of conditions, including: lines and wrinkles, age spots, enlarged pores, skin laxity, acne scars and uneven skin tone. The appearance of these concerns can often result in the skin looking tired, having lost its youthful radiance.
Before your practitioner begins, a numbing cream may be administered to the face to minimise any discomfort. Once this has taken effect, a pen-like device will make tiny pin-pricks into the skin of the concerned area, replenishing the skin cells to give the complexion an even texture. A soothing serum may then be applied, to help calm the skin.

Although microneedling is mostly used on the face, this procedure can also help to improve the appearance of stretch marks and other minor scarring. AM I SUITABLE FOR MICRONEEDLING?
A suitable candidate will be affected by lines and wrinkles, or noticeable age spots, acne scarring, enlarged pores, skin laxity or an uneven skin tone. You may not be recommended for this procedure if you are pregnant, have eczema or psoriasis, have recently undergone radiation therapy, have a history of poor skin healing or have open wounds.
IS MICRONEEDLING SAFE?
This treatment is minimally invasive, removing the risk of added trauma to the skin and the extensive healing that accompanies a surgical procedure. A trained professional will only be permitted to perform this treatment and the device that is needed.
IS MICRONEEDLING PAINFUL?
Before this treatment begins, a numbing cream can be applied to the face, reducing any discomfort and sensitivity that may be felt from the tiny pin-pricks. The skin may feel a little sensitive after the procedure and a serum may be used on the skin, to calm down any inflammation.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OR RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH MICRONEEDLING?
Minor redness and irritation may be experienced, following the treatment, which should settle within a few days. Some less common effects can
include: bleeding, bruising, infection and peeling. Your experienced practitioner will ensure you are fully informed about any risks that you may incur as a result of this treatment, and they are always contactable should you have any concerns.
WHAT DOWNTIME CAN I EXPECT FROM MICRONEEDLING?
You may wish to spend the first 2 or 3 days after the treatment in the comfort of your home, while any redness and sensitivity subsides. However, for most people, usual daily activities can still be attended to without the need for any downtime. Any specific after care instructions will be explained to you during a pre-treatment consultation.

Ambra Aesthetics are the place to go to for professional, friendly service. You don’t need to go to Harley Street. Dr M and her team are all experts and really take care of you giving the best treatments and advice. Sam on the front desk is a dream. In lots of places the staff can look scary from doing too much but Ambra you can tell it’s all about discrete subtle tweakments. . Don’t hesitate to go!
