Polynucleotides
Polynucleotides are a relatively new type of anti-ageing injectable that can be used to rejuvenate the face, neck, decolletage and hands.
Polynucleotides do not artificially pump up the skin, they work to restore the natural volume that gets lost as a result of declining collagen and elastin.

Polynucleotides
This treatment is often referred to as a skin boosting procedure. At Ambra Clinic based in North London we use brands including: Plinest and Ameela which contain high concentrations of moisturising ingredients, and are known for creating natural volume beneath the surface of the skin.
As an effective bio-stimulator, these innovative products will trigger the production of new collagen and elastin when injected beneath the skin, and increase the number of fibroblasts.
But, in addition to skin boosters, polynucleotides will also provide nourishment to the inner structure - effectively feeding the skin.
By building the extracellular matrix (the intricate network of skin cells and tissues), we can slow down the rate at which collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid breaks down, and the development of facial wrinkles and lax skin.
Polynucleotides are bioploymers which are made from stretchy molecules extracted from fragments of fish DNA. They contain naturally occurring biomolecules which have greater compatibility with the integral fabrication of the skin, making them a highly effective healing / restorative product.
For best results our trained practitioner may recommend 2 treatment sessions, performed 2-4 weeks apart.
Like other skin boosters, the outcome of a polynucleotide treatment will develop gradually over 2-3 months as the new fibrous tissue regenerates. And, as the ageing process will continue we recommend top-up procedures every 9-12 months to maintain your radiant, youthful look.
FAQ
AM I SUITABLE FOR POLYNUCLEOTIDES?
Many people are found to be suitable for polynucleotide treatment. However, if you are allergic to fish, dermal fillers may be a less risky option (unless another skin boosting product is suggested).
ARE POLYNUCLEOTIDES SAFE?
By carrying out a thorough consultation we will determine whether the treatment is both suitable and safe for you to undergo. Treatments that induce a natural restorative response are often found to be safer, and we can combine the use of polynucleotides with other aesthetic procedures.
IS THE TREATMENT PROCESS PAINFUL?
Ambra Clinic based in North London takes every step to ensure you are comfortable throughout any treatment we perform. For an injectable procedure we use very fine needles and offer the use of a topical anesthetic to minimise any potential discomfort.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OF RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH POLYNUCLEOTIDES?
An injectable treatment is likely to incur some minor side effects, including: redness, slight swelling, small bumps at the point of injection and tiny puncture marks. These effects will disappear over some hours, with any bruising fading within a few days. After 48 hours, any marks can be concealed using make-up.
HOW MUCH DOWNTIME CAN I EXPECT?
Although you should be able to continue with your day, many patients decide to have 24 hours of social downtime to allow for any redness and swelling to subside. We would recommend that you avoid touching or rubbing the treated area for up to 48 hours to avoid further irritation, and to allow the product to settle beneath the skin.
HOW MUCH DOES THIS TREATMENT COST?
At Ambra Clinic our polynucleotide treatments are available from £250
